Dr. Loleda Moman

Dr. Loleda I. Moman, MSW, MA, is a distinguished scholar and practitioner in Community Engagement and Leadership. She is known for her innovative research and commitment to
community engagement. With a PhD in Community Engagement and Leadership from Point Park University, Dr. Moman has dedicated more than 20 years to advancing knowledge and practice in her field. She has a Bachelor of Social Work from Carlow University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. She also has a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Point Park University.


Currently, Dr. Moman serves as Community Programs Coordinator at Fineview and Perry Hilltop Citizens Council(s), Adjunct Professor at the University of Pittsburgh in the school of
social work, and, as of recently, has launched her business, Moman Supportive Services LLC, dedicated to advocating for necessary support and empowering caregivers to utilize their voices to access additional resources. She published Lives Restored by Grace from Tragedy to Triumph in 2019 and will publish her research, “Understanding Caregivers Caring for their loved ones living with Spinal Cord Injury”, in 2024.


In addition to her academic work, Dr. Moman is passionate about community involvement and family systems, working closely with local organizations to promote mentoring opportunities, marital stability, employment opportunities, affordable housing, health awareness, and inclusivity
in the community. She is a sought-after speaker and consultant providing insights into disability support, family support, and community advocacy both professionally and for lay audiences.


Lastly, Dr. Moman believes in the power of collaboration and strives to bridge the gap between theory and practice, ensuring her work has a tangible impact on individuals and communities. In her free time, she enjoys listening to 70s, 80s, and 90s R&B/Hip-Hop music, dancing, reading, and spending time laughing and creating memories with her family and friends.
